Grading Policy
- Final grades are based on tests/ classwork/homework/projects. You are able to check your student's grades by using Powerschool. I update grades - at least- every two weeks.
- Late work- all work is due the day it is assigned. Students may turn in work after a due date the next day, but they will receive half credit. After this point, assignments turned in do not receive credit.
- Absences- Students are responsible to make up work they miss due to an absence. The numbers of days students are allowed to turn in this work for credit is the number of days of being absent from school. If you have a prearranged absence, the work is due upon return to class.
- Extra Credit- Students have an opportunity to complete extra credit. They may select a newspaper article and write a summary. The students may do two news articles per Friday. Each article is worth 50 points. Students may turn in two articles per Friday during the quarter.
- Behavior- I believe no student has the right to interfere with another student's learning. Therefore, I expect all my students to be respectful, polite, pleasant, responsible and safe.
- Notebooks/ binders- Student should have one for class. It is a part of their quarter grade for English.
- Dayrunners- Students should have a dayrunner. I expect students to write down the assignments each day. This is part of their English grade.
- Tardies- All students are expected to arrive to class on time. If they arrive late, the student should have a pass explaining why they are late to class.
